I’m not a PRAD student, but still interested in advertising. Can I still join?

Of course! We want to attract a wide variety of students and skills since there are so many roles within the industry and routes one can take. We want to attract students from CDM who are into UX design, animation, photography, and more. We want to include students who are in Health Communication that are interested in advertising, and business students that are in Marketing, as well as creative writers and journalism students. Overall, we want to be inclusive, and not being a PRAD student or a student in the College of Communication should not be a deterring factor for anyone!

How is TAS really going to help better prepare me for the future?

We have resources unlike any other student organization that specifically caters to students whose interests lie in advertising. Aside from going to at least five agency visits every quarter, we conduct workshops in between to review resumes and portfolios, we have an incredible network of alumni who continue to be incredible resources, and we treat each other like family because we want to see all of our members reach their full potential. The advertising world is always evolving and changing, how can I stay up to date?

Our bi-weekly newsletters keep its subscribers updated on the latest industry news, and our general body meetings typically include discussion on what’s happening throughout the ad world. We also recommend subscribing to AdAge and receiving their Morning Wake-Up Call emails, which get sent every morning and give you excellent updates on all things advertising.

I haven’t been able to make it to General Body meetings but still want to join. What should I do?
